This has rarely happened with me but because I've wrote so many caps already & have been doing this for many years, but I can't seem to put words to an image because either I'm unsatisfied with my idea or its been done before by me or another capper!
Was hoping to post up some new content today & just cant write anything so I guess I'm asking for a second opinion on the people, other cappers/writers as to what you did to kill the block of being too critical on your own works?
Theres probably no issue but my own perfectionalism in how I do my layouts & write my stories. *shrug*
Always love hearing what some may wanna see more of as well since I don't mind taking "requests" from time to time.
Comments & replys, appreciated!
Might I recommend going back to your favorite tumblr archive and just glancing through a lot of source pictures. Yes, it's not CAPing, but it might get your creativity going again. Looking for graphic ideas always a good thing. As you pointed out you've done this for a long time. You will work through this.
ReplyDeleteI would say don't try to force it, it will come.
ReplyDeleteI think Anne has the right idea... don't force it. When I've had writers block and struggled against it, it seemed to just elongate the dry spell. I still occasionally struggle myself, but I find that if I can't get anything going and just shrug and move on, that I'll be back to capping far sooner.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about feeling that all the good stories have been told. But just consider that they haven't all been told by you. Your unique perspective and voice can breathe new life into an old story and make us love it all over again!
Sometimes a limitation helps. If I said that I would like the next caption to prominently feature green (either literally in the photo or figuratively in the story) would that help?
